About the Conference

Barry Stroud is a leading American philosopher who is widely known for his work on Skepticism, Metaphysics, Hume, Kant and Wittgenstein, among other topics. This conference will be devoted to Stroud's most recent book "Engagement and Metaphysical Dissatisfaction. Modality and Value".


The conference is jointly organized by James Conant (Leipzig/Chicago) and Till Hoeppner (Leipzig/Potsdam). It is funded and supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship held by Prof. Conant at the University of Leipzig.
